A
request for support and funding
Artists Against the War invites you to join us in creating a
powerful project to SAY NO to the Bush agenda! We have launched
a vibrant public statement, which is visible on the facades
of buildings and in the streets nationwide. This campaign was
inspired by the rainbow PACE (PEACE) banners that have been
waving from millions of Italian windows and balconies, and held
aloft by citizens at demonstrations since the outbreak of war
in Iraq. It has been translated into many languages; as it spread
throughout the world, it became an international peace symbol.
Artists Against the War is mass producing large, rainbow striped
banners for Americans to unfurl from windows and carry in marches.
These flags have blanketed cities this summer with a message
of change, voicing both our outrage and our optimism:
WE THE PEOPLE SAY NO TO THE BUSH AGENDA.
United
for Peace and Justice, an umbrella organization for over 800
affiliated activist groups, are distributing the banners here
in New York and across the country. Philmark Printers, a New
York printing company, has generously printed 10,000 poster
images of the banner on paper free of cost, and United for Peace
and Justice has commissioned 20,000 additional posters from
them, which have begun appearing in the streets this month.
Please help us continue distribution by making a donation.
